I chose to wear Juventus shirt even when, after winning the World Cup, I followed those colours in Championship B showing that the choice made seven years ago as a world champion, was only due to my personal history and it obeyed the hearts and ideals and not the commercial logic with which, too often, people from the outside want to paint who is a main character in football.
I took this decision because seven years ago I had a dream: to take those colours at the top of Europe.
After seven years I am not losing the desire to dream and I take this decision because I believe that this dream is going to be true.
Today the satisfaction of reaching this goal will be so big only if I will achieve it with my team-mates, with this society and with these supporters and not taking easy shortcuts to realities that are built to win thanks to economic dominance without history.
I believe in the success of this project that will lead up to the most important continental trophy through hard work and heart. A project that speaks Italian.
A project that involves everyone and makes them feel part of this unique context where everything is possible.
For this reason I chose to stay.
For this reason I chose to continue fighting in a field where Juventus flags fly without choosing for more comfortable alternatives that could lead to a "gold-bearing" end of career.
Maybe this could be the choice of a dreamer...maybe
But as De Gaulle said, For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.
